Toyota unveils 2013 RAV4 in Los Angeles

After teasing us with a video, Toyota has finally taken the wraps off of its all-new 2013 RAV4 at the Los Angeles Auto Show yesterday.

The completely redesigned fourth-generation model takes styling cues from its smaller sibling, the Auris, with perhaps the most notable feature is a new rear liftgate replacing the side-hinged rear door.

Toyota will drop the V6 powerplant for a more fuel economical 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit which pumps out 176 horsepower and is coupled to a new six-speed automatic transmission.

Privacy glass, Daytime Running Lights, cruise control, power side mirrors, power door locks and power windows are standard on all RAV4s.

Customers will be offered a choice between front- and all-wheel drive.
