Toyota will display the FT-86 Open concept, a study model based on the rear-wheel-drive GT 86 sports car, at the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show.
Unlike the Coupe, which has a solid roof, the concept features an electrically operated soft top. Toyota says this will allow “a feeling of oneness with nature while maintaining the joy and sense of oneness with the vehicle created by the 86”.
The interior features high-contrast white and navy blue, in addition to yellow-gold stitching in the floor mats and seats.
No performance figures are available, but we expect a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine with 200 hp, which is found in the Coupe version.
The world premiere of the concept in Geneva is occurring at the same time as prototype engineering assessments take place.
