November 26, 2015 – Both the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R are two of the fastest muscle cars to ever come out of America, but how do they fare against one another? Motor Trend has the answer.
The Chevy might be older than the Ford, but it’s no slouch; it’s powered by a 7-liter V8 engine that produces 505 horsepower and 652 Nm of torque. In comparison, the Ford is down on torque but packs more horsepower; its 5.2-liter V8 makes 526 hp and 581 Nm of torque. Crucially, the GT350R is also 75 kilograms lighter.
How do the two muscle cars stack up in a fair fight on race track and drag strip? Find out in the video below (you can skip to 19:56 for the track battle and 23:40 for the drag battle).
