The first-generation BMW M3, which dominated the circuits back in the 1980s, had 189 hp from its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, while one of the most dominating cars in rallying, the Lancia Delta Integrale, featured a similar configuration, with slightly more power (around 200 hp).
