Vauxhall has introduced the Mokka GSE Rally prototype, a performance-focused electric SUV built for the track—not the showroom. Based on the standard Mokka, this model marks Vauxhall’s entry into the FIA’s new eRally5 regulations and will debut at the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup on May 23–24.
Power comes from the same 54kWh battery found in the road-going version, but the rally-spec Mokka’s drivetrain is tuned to deliver 280bhp and 254lb-ft of torque. Key upgrades include a racing gearbox, Bilstein suspension, limited-slip differential, and reinforced drive shafts—all engineered for motorsport-level handling and durability.
To meet rally regulations, the prototype strips out all driver assistance systems such as ABS, traction control, and lane-keeping. In their place: an FIA-approved roll cage, bucket rally seats with six-point harnesses, and rally-specific axles. This Mokka is built for serious racing.
Visually, the GSE Rally version stands out with bold livery, yellow brake calipers, a roof-mounted air intake, new wheels, and a large “OMG” decal that adds a bit of personality to its serious spec.
“This prototype showcases the potential of a fully electric rally car,” said Florian Huettl, CEO of Vauxhall/Opel. “It combines cutting-edge motorsport tech with impressive power and performance.”
Though not confirmed for production, the GSE Rally hints at the future of electric performance cars from Vauxhall. Enthusiasts can only hope this wild, race-ready Mokka inspires a limited-edition road version soon.
