December 23, 2016 – Volkswagen has introduced a refreshed version of its high-performance Golf R for 2017, adding more power and a few exterior and interior updates.
Available in hatchback and Variant (station wagon) forms, the 2017 Golf R benefits from a 10 horsepower and 20 Nm power hike, which means the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit now generates 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds when equipped with the dual-clutch DSG transmission.
Visual updates include modified headlights and taillights, while the interior gets a new infotainment system.
