Volkswagen’s winter monster: the Snowareg

It’s winter time in the Northern Hemisphere, and driving around can be quite challenging this time of the year. Most people who live in tough winter conditions opt for All-wheel drive cars or SUVs, but even that doesn’t help sometimes.

There’s a solution though, and it’s called the Volkswagen Snowareg. Originally constructed in 2011 for Volkswagen Sweden, the Snowareg – based on the Touareg as the name suggests – is the ultimate winter vehicle as it features tank-like continuous tracks suited for all terrains.

The Snowareg is equipped with a 4.2-liter V8 TDI developing 340 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.
