Volvo speeds into unchartered territory by bringing the Volvo S60 Polestar to Lebanon. This unique concept car is one of a kind. The incredible machine can do 0-100 km/h 3.9s and is capable of reaching a top speed of over 300km/h. A masterpiece of engineering, every detail is designed to optimise aerodynamics, power and handling while ensuring comfort and safety at high speeds. This makes it ideal for both high performance driving and long distance travelling. Not only is the car itself groundbreaking, but this is the first time anything like this takes place in Lebanon.
For two whole months, Lebanese car enthusiasts will be able to see the Polestar. But that’s not the only incredible news. Invitees enjoyed a once in a lifetime chance to co-drive the Volvo S60 Polestar with Thed Björk, Sweden’s most talented racing driver. In early June 2013, Thed Björk secured a historic victory in the battle of Stockholm at Solvalla. He was the fastest in testing and qualifying and headed the race from start to finish in the positions 1-2-3-4 at the Swedish Tour Car Championship (STCC) for Volvo Polestar racing.
This unprecedented move shows Volvo’s unwavering faith in Lebanon. It stresses the car marker’s strong belief in the country’s promising future and is a tribute to the people’s passion for life and appreciation for cutting-edge technology. Volvo Lebanon is truly driven by people and commitment. The Volvo S60 Polestar is testament to the Swedish company’s true potential since it proves that the firm is not only dedicated to the highest safety standards but pushes the boundaries to deliver superior comfort and aesthetics. It’s a car maker that surpasses expectations and appeals to families and an even wider demographic. It stands for innovation and progress.
On the 22nd of June 2013, high-profile members of the public and the media were invited to a special event in Kfardebian at Warde parking lot. The test drives kicked off at 11am and were followed by lunch at the Cabane. At 3pm a cocktail reception gave attendees the rare chance to meet and socialise with Thed Björk. The momentous day is now a milestone in Lebanese motor history.
The Volvo S60 Polestar can be viewed at Beirut Souks until end of July.
