Volvo XC60 safety demonstration goes wrong

May 29, 2015 – A demonstration of Volvo‘s City Safety system went very wrong recently in the Dominican Republic.

As you’ll see in the video below, a Volvo salesperson attempts to demonstrate the Swedish brand’s City Safety system in a Volvo XC60 to a group of prospective buyers, but what he didn’t know is that the car wasn’t equipped with the optional pedestrian-detection system, so he ends up plowing into the customers, who left the dealership with a few bruises.

According to Volvo, there was nothing wrong with the car and that accident occurred due to human error. In other words, the salesman should have known that the XC60 lacked the pedestrian-detection system.
