March 11, 2015 – The typical setting for a Hill Climb race is beautiful and twisty mountain roads, like the ones usually seen in Switzerland or Italy, but Peugeot Sport has taken Hill climb racing to a whole level as it unleashed its 208 T16 rally car on an active volcano in Sicily.
The volcano featured in Peugeot Sport’s new video is Mount Etna and the driver sitting behind the 208 T16’s steering wheel is eight-time Italian Rally Champion Paolo Andreucci.
In the clip, the Italian driver makes his way up to the top of the mountain on narrow tracks covered with black volcanic ash and snow. It’s not as spectacular as Loeb’s Pikes Peak run, but it’s worth watching.
