Watch: Fernando Alonso Drives Aston Valhalla in Monaco

Fernando Alonso took the upcoming Aston Martin Valhalla for a high-speed run through the streets of Monaco ahead of the 2025 Grand Prix. Serving as the car’s principal development driver, the two-time Formula One world champion pushed the hybrid supercar to its limits on an empty Monte Carlo circuit.

The Valhalla, Aston Martin’s first mid-engined production model, features a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid setup delivering 1,064bhp and 811lb ft of torque. As its official launch approaches later this year, Alonso’s test lap offered a dynamic preview of what customers can expect from this high-performance machine.

Captured on video, Alonso’s lap showcased the Valhalla’s agility, acceleration, and F1-inspired engineering—without the usual traffic, pit stops, or race-day complications. The drive demonstrated not only power but also precision and emotion behind the wheel, elements Alonso emphasized in his comments.

Having been involved in the development process for over 18 months, Alonso called the Monaco run a milestone for both himself and the brand. He praised Valhalla’s combination of luxury, cutting-edge technology, and on-track capabilities.

Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark echoed those sentiments, highlighting the supercar’s class-leading performance and engineering advancements. He noted that unveiling it on one of motorsport’s most iconic circuits with Alonso at the wheel underscores the brand’s deep racing heritage and road car evolution.

Valhalla marks a bold step forward for Aston Martin, blending motorsport pedigree with road-going innovation in a dramatic, high-speed debut.
