World Cup stars to land in Qatar for annual FC Bayern Munich winter training camp with Volkswagen Middle East

January 8, 2015 – Volkswagen Middle East are to host FC Bayern Munich at the team’s annual training camp in Doha from 09 to 17 January, with six members of the World Cup-winning team in attendance.

In partnership with Qatar Football Association, the supporting partner of Volkswagen Middle East for the past 4 years, the Bayern Munich team – including Mario Goetze, the game-winning goal scorer- return to Qatar for their fifth annual training camp, held at Qatar’s Aspire Academy, a globally recognised national sports academy.

Other members of the World Cup-winning team taking part in the training camp including Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Mueller and the semi-finalists Arjen Robben (Netherland) and Dante (Brazil).

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Executive Board Chairman, FC Bayern Munich said: “The Doha training ground provides the team with the very best training conditions for the winter months, along with excellent sports facilities.

During their stay in Qatar, the team will also take part in a friendly match against the Qatar Stars Team on Tuesday, 13 January at 20:00.
