January 21, 2017 – Thierry Neuville lost the Monte Carlo Rally lead at the end of the third day after he was forced to stop due to suspension damage to his Hyundai i20 WRC.
Sebastien Ogier inherited the lead as a result of Neuville’s mishap, while Ott Tanak now sits in 2nd place overall, 47 seconds behind his M-Sport team-mate. Toyota’s Jari-Matti Latvala is now up to 3rd place overall.
Ogier won two of today’s stages (SS11 and SS13), while DMACK driver Elfyn Evans collected two fastest times as well (SS10 and SS12). Neuville claimed the fastest time in SS9.
Craig Breen in the old Citroen DS3 and Dani Sordo in the new Hyundai are 4th and 5th respectively.
