WRC Rally Sweden- Final Results

February 12, 2017 – Jari-Matti Latvala secured victory in Rally Sweden this afternoon – his first win since last year’s Rally Mexico and the first for Toyota in only their second race following their WRC comeback.

Latvala inherited the lead yesterday after Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville crashed out, and the Finn overcame pressure from M-Sport’s Ott Tanak today to claim the win by finishing 29 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. Latvala scored extra points by winning the powerstage.

Tanak settled for second place overall, while team-mate Sebastien Ogier finished third ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai) and Craig Breen (Citroen) respectively.

Toyota’s last WRC victory came at Rally China 1999, courtesy of Didier Auriol and a Toyota Corolla WRC.
