Xavier Massad left his mark on the first Speed Test of 2012. He went on to beat some fierce competition from Shady Akl to take the win. After the race we met Xavier for a chat… mind you his answers are brief and straight forward ;).
You won the amateur category. Is there any difference from last year’s car?
Yes this year we are better prepared. We have worked more on the car and it paid dividends. I am more prepared myself too…
Do think that the shift of many amateur drivers to the Pro category gave you more chance to win?
Many things changed this year, many drivers used to participate in the amateur category are now in the pro and this changed the whole concept. The cars have changed and we saw some big differences. It’s good it’s good…
Who was your toughest rival today?
Well Shady Akl was very close today and Garo on the BMW. All the guys are good, we have very good drivers.
What do you promise us for the future?
Well I promise to improve myself and the car much more. I will put the improvement in the overall standings as a target for me in the next events.
