2026 Lexus IS Sedan Updated with New Features

The 2026 Lexus IS Sedan makes its return with significant updates, though it’s now only available in the IS 350 model. This marks the end of the iconic 5.0-liter V8 engine that had been a part of the IS lineup since the 2007 IS F. For the 2026 model year, Lexus offers two trims: F Sport and F Sport Design, both featuring a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine. This engine produces 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission for rear-wheel-drive models and a six-speed automatic for all-wheel-drive versions.

The exterior has received a facelift, with a newly designed front end that enhances the sedan’s sporty, low, and wide stance. The primary differences between the F Sport and F Sport Design trims include additional upgrades for the F Sport, such as a redesigned rear spoiler, optional red brake calipers, and updated styling for the 19-inch aluminum wheels. A new exterior color called Wind, a metallic light gray, joins the lineup, which also includes Ultra White, Iridium, Cloudburst Gray, Caviar, Infrared, and Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0.

Inside, the 2026 IS features a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is now standard, along with a 12.3-inch digital display for the dashboard. The sedan also comes with a 10-speaker audio system as standard, with an optional Mark Levinson 17-speaker sound system for premium audio quality. The center console is updated with “forged bamboo” accents, which utilize natural bamboo fibers for a unique look. Standard features now include a wireless charging pad and four USB-C charging ports, two of which are available for rear-seat passengers.

Lexus has also included the Lexus Safety System Plus 3.0 as standard, offering advanced safety features such as pre-collision with pedestrian protection, dynamic cruise control, lane tracing, and departure assist. The 2026 IS is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2026, with final pricing and further details available closer to launch.
