Ferrari has unveiled the 296 GT3 Evo, a refined version of its successful GT3 racer, set to compete in the 2026 season. After earning over 140 wins from 343 races, including victories at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the 296 GT3 gets a series of subtle yet purposeful upgrades.
The Evo features updated aerodynamics designed to improve performance in all track conditions. Enhancements include a more sculpted front for better stability in slipstreams, redesigned wheel arch louvres for improved airflow management, and new bonnet intakes that increase brake cooling by 20 percent.
The twin-turbo V6 engine remains unchanged, still delivering 600bhp and 524lb ft of torque. However, it is mounted slightly farther forward and angled to optimize weight distribution and torsional rigidity, while also making room for a redesigned rear diffuser.
The six-speed sequential transmission has been tuned for smoother torque delivery at both low and high speeds. Additional air channels and a revised front splitter contribute to improved downforce and handling balance.
These focused changes make the Evo more competitive while retaining the performance that made the original 296 GT3 a dominant force. Expect the new Evo to make its racing debut in 2026 with Ferrari’s trademark precision and pace.
